# Ad attribution

> See which ad platform, ad campaign, and lead form each contact came from.

<Info>
  **Early access.** Advertising is rolling out gradually and does not appear in
  every workspace's sidebar yet. If you do not see **Advertising**, contact
  [support@autocampaign.ai](mailto:support@autocampaign.ai) to ask about access.
</Info>

## Overview

When a lead arrives from [Google or Meta Ads](/channels/advertising), Autocampaign AI
records where they came from. This is called attribution (knowing which ad or
link a customer came from). You can see it on each
[contact](/getting-started/glossary#contact), and add it up across your whole
list on the **Lead Sources** and **Campaign Performance** pages.

## See where one contact came from

Open any ad-sourced contact and look for the **"Where this contact came from"**
card. It shows:

* **Platform** — Google Ads or Meta Ads.
* **Campaign** — the ad campaign that first brought them in.
* **Lead form** — the [lead form](/getting-started/glossary#lead-form) they submitted.
* **First contact** — when they first arrived.
* **Most recent campaign** — the latest ad campaign they responded to.

<Note>
  Autocampaign AI shows the plain campaign and lead-form **names** — you won't
  see internal ID numbers. A row stays hidden until its name is available.
</Note>

## See where all your contacts come from

**Advertising → Lead Sources** shows where **all** your contacts come from — not
just ads. It has a donut chart and a table with each source, its new contacts,
and its share of the total. Sources include CSV Import, Manual, Web Form, Text
Link, Inbound SMS, Google Ads, and Meta Ads.

## See which ad campaigns turn into customers

**Advertising → Campaign Performance** turns ad activity into outcomes:

* **KPIs** (your headline numbers) — New Contacts, Appointments Booked, Qualified
  Leads, New Customers, and Conversion Rate.
* **Funnel** (how many contacts reach each step) — Contacts → Engaged →
  Qualified → Appointment Booked → Customers.
* **Campaign table** — for each ad campaign: contacts, appointments, qualified
  leads, customers, and conversion rate.

Filter by period (last 7/30 days, this/last month), custom date range, and platform.

## FAQ

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Does Autocampaign AI report my sales back to Google or Meta?">
    Not yet. Attribution here works in one direction: it traces contacts and
    their progress through your [pipeline](/getting-started/glossary#pipeline)
    back to an ad. Sending results back to the ad platforms isn't available yet.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why is the campaign name missing on a contact?">
    The ad campaign or lead form hasn't finished syncing, or the name isn't
    available yet. Autocampaign AI hides the row rather than show an ID number.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What's the difference between first contact and most recent campaign?">
    First contact/campaign is where they entered. Most recent campaign is the
    latest ad they responded to — useful when a contact engages with several
    campaigns.
