Overview
An opportunity is a potential sale, booking or deal. You move it through the stages of a pipeline until it is Won or Lost. It can carry a value, an owner, a linked contact, tags, custom fields, next-step tasks, comments and attachments. Find them under CRM → Opportunities: All (/opportunities),
My Opportunities (/opportunities?mine=1) and Reports (/opportunities/reports).
Each opportunity also has a full page at /opportunities/<id>.
Time to complete: ~3 minutes to create a deal · Difficulty: Beginner
· A Sales Pipeline (New Lead · Contacted · Qualified · Proposal · Won · Lost)
is created the first time anyone opens Opportunities.
Before you start
Check what your role lets you do:- Owners, Admins and Managers can create, edit, delete and comment on opportunities, and customize pipelines.
- Agents can create, edit and comment, but not delete or change pipelines.
- Viewers can only look. See Users & roles.
Switch between board and list views
Click the pipeline name in the header to switch pipelines. Owners, Admins and Managers also see New Pipeline and Customize pipeline there. Beside it: Total value, Weighted (value × probability), Opportunities, Open, Won, Lost. The toolbar has Search opportunities… and a Filter menu (Stage, Status, Owner, Priority, Source, Value range, Expected close range). Next to it are quick filters (My opportunities, Open, Won, Lost, Closing soon — open deals closing within 7 days) and a Board / List toggle.- Board — one column per stage with count and value. Drag cards between stages; columns load 25 cards then Load more. Add Opportunity under a column pre-selects that stage.
- List — columns Opportunity, Contact, Stage, Value, Owner, Close, Next step, Priority. Stage, value, owner, close date and priority edit in place. Columns lets you show, hide or drag to reorder columns (including custom fields) and Create field.

@name in a comment is highlighted but doesn’t notify anyone. The panel moves a
deal between stages of its own pipeline only.Win, lose and reopen
Move a deal to Won: its status becomes Won, a conversion with the deal’s value is recorded, and the team gets an Opportunity won notification. Move it to Lost and Why was this opportunity lost? asks for a reason from your workspace list and/or a note, then Mark as lost. Dragging back to an open stage reopens the deal and cancels the recorded conversion.Who gets notified
Members get Opportunity assigned to you when they become owner. They get Next step assigned to you when a task is created for or assigned to them, and Opportunity won when any deal closes. See Notifications.Create opportunities automatically

- Deals by stage — where every live deal sits right now.
- Stage conversion — of deals created in the period, the share that moved on from each open stage, ending at Won.
- Forecast — open deals by expected close month with Open value and Expected revenue (weighted by probability); undated deals sit under No close date.
FAQ
Where does the probability come from?
Where does the probability come from?
The deal’s own Probability if set, otherwise the stage default (Won 100%,
Lost 0%). Stages you add have no default, so set it per deal.
Can a contact have several opportunities?
Can a contact have several opportunities?
Yes. See the contact’s Opportunities tab. Automations and AI Employees only
touch the contact’s most recently updated open deal.
